2nd Quarter Board Meeting (June 30th)

The Health Ministry Board is a solid group of dynamic individuals.  Each of them has expertise in different areas.  You can imagine then, what it is like to have them all get in a room to plan and direct where and how the Health Ministry should go.   It is encouraging to say the least.
Almost all board members were present, including Isaac Voss, Ricardo Hong, Rebecca and Joe Henderson, Luann Lee, Eiko Comfort, Joni Loomis, Diane Pogroszewski, and Bryan Sauter.  Rachel Dunham and Rachel LaBarbera, non-board members, were also present.
Isaac gave a summary of what has been done in the last quarter.  About 160 people were seen through the three Health Fairs, the Dental Clinic and Shalom Outreach are going well, Isaac is consulting a Medical Clinic in MacArthur Park, and the Annual Health Conference is coming up.  As each ministry was shared, board members gave contacts, insights and suggestions that could improve the program.
Shalom Outreach, its conception mentioned last blog entry, is now almost done with its first run through.  A more extensive report will be given upon first-run completion.
The Dental Clinic is going strong, thank you Dr. Arnie Balber and team.  Many many people have recieved cleanings, cavity fillings, tooth replacements, tooth extractions and the like through the clinic.  Dr Balber sees about 10 guests each time.  Guests have said they know God loves them through the people (the Church) of that clinic and the care that was given.
This fall, in conjunction with the Dental Clinic, Rachel Dunham will be starting up a Health Fair that has plans to grow into a clinic.  She shared her plans with the board and they offered suggestions and contacts.
It was encouraging to remember how God has worked in the last quarter and where He seems to be moving forward.  It was also encouraging to have improvement and connection suggestions for better health solutions in the inner city from such experienced people.  Our board is committed and passionate about being Jesus' hands and feet in the inner city, and that was darn encouraging.
